Habitat ReStore: Making a Difference With Recycled Building Materials

Habitat for Humanity Portland, Evergreen, Willamette West, and Mount Hood join forces at Habitat ReStore creating a recycled building materials re-sale center. The center sells recycled overstock materials, seconds, used, discontinued or salvaged building materials to keep them out of landfills and to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.
All of the proceeds go towards helping to build new Habitat homes. These funds also help pay for permits and other building expenses that further advance Habitat for Humanity’s mission to build decent and affordable homes for low-income families. The center is also an affordable alternative for homeowners to find the materials needed for upgrades and improvements.
The ReStore is a collaborative recycling and fund-raising effort of four area Habitat for Humanity affiliates: Portland, Willamette West, Evergreen, and Mt. Hood. If its in your neck of the woods, Habitat ReStore is a great drop-off for unused materials or place to find what you need for home improvement projects. Donating products or purchasing from their recycled stock helps Habitat keep building and helps keep things going around.
