Green Redux

I’ve been following the fate of the Alice Ball house in New Canaan, one of Philip Johnson’s masterpieces that might be razed before summer rolls around. I was on the East Coast last week and had a brief opportunity to drive by this icon. It is still standing, although the demolition permits are in the hands of the owner.

Tom Andersen and Gina Federico blog from a modern not too far from the Alice Ball and they have been covering the progression of the Alice Ball house saga. They have some interesting posts up, one after meeting with the property’s current owner and also a response from a local reader on the ins and outs of zoning, wetlands and other issues that have brought the AB to the brink of disappearing.
