Diverting House Parts on the Front Range
Colorado residents near Boulder and Fort Collins can resource unwanted construction materials and find deals on recycled house parts at ReSource Yard, the waste division of the Center for ReSource Conservation. There are two ReSource Yard’s, one in Boulder and one in Fort Collins, and both are filled with finds like a selection of wood windows, lighting, cabinetry, flooring and lots of other great reusable building materials. The initiative has been in operation for over a decade and racked up quite a few local and national awards for their efforts in waste reduction and diverting materials from landfills. Habitat ReStore: Making a Difference With Recycled Building Materials
Habitat for Humanity Portland, Evergreen, Willamette West, and Mount Hood join forces at Habitat ReStore creating a recycled building materials re-sale center. The center sells recycled overstock materials, seconds, used, discontinued or salvaged building materials to keep them out of landfills and to raise money for Habitat for Humanity.

Making It Go Round: Recycled House Parts
This Old House’s Jordan Novet has put together a great list of “house part thrift stores” bringing to light the thriving second life of unused construction materials, and where to find them. Many of our favorite stomps made the list, like Build It Green! NYC and the Building Materials Resource Center Building Materials Resource Center, where you’ll find donations from Scott’s company SBK Unlimited.
