Build it Green! NYC: New York City’s only not-for-profit building materials warehouse, Build it Green! NYC offers low-cost salvage surplus building materials where homeowners can donate and purchase reusable house parts. This initiative has been open for over 3 years and is sponsored by the Community Environmental Center (CEC). Building Value: is a non-profit reuse center in Walnut Hills, Ohio, that salvages quality building materials otherwise destined for the landfill and resells them in a public retail center. The enterprise provides on-the-job training opportunities in construction and retail, two of Ohio’s highest growth sectors. Habitat ReStore: Habitat for Humanity Portland, Evergreen, Willamette West, and Mount Hood join forces at Habitat ReStore creating a recycled building materials re-sale center.
